A Casablanca woman by the name of Zahra Aboutalib was pregnant for 46 - and a photo of the 'stone baby' has been released.

Back in 1955, when Zahra Aboutalib was 26 years old, she became pregnant with her first child. When the day came for her to give birth, she suffered extremely painful contractions.

She was rushed to a local medical center where she was told she would need a C-section. Zahra Aboutalib was afraid to have the procedure done after witnessing another woman's death during childbirth in the ward, so she ran away from the hospital.

The severe pains continued for Zahra for several days, but subsided with her baby still in her womb.

Days later, the baby was no longer moving and the pains were completely gone.

Years later, Zahra adopted children and later became a grandmother. At the age of 75, she began experiencing the same pains she suffered 46 years prior, and out of concern, her son insisted she see a specialist in Rabat.

Zahra went to Professor Taibi Ouazzani. Quazzani immediately noticed a large growth in her abdomen. He feared it was an ovarian cyst and had a detailed MRI done. He then saw something he couldn't identify.

The growth was Zahra's baby from 46 years ago.

Mymultiplesclerosis reports: 'Zahra had an ectopic pregnancy where the egg had implanted in the fallopian tube. The fetus that developed, burst out of the fallopian tube and continued to develop in the abdominal cavity. It survived by attaching it's placenta to vital organs around her stomach. Professor Ouazzania was faced with a difficult decision when deciding if it would be safe to try and remove the fetus. The fetus weighed 7lb and measured 42cm in length.'

The fetus, now being called the 'Stone Baby', calcified into a hard, sold mass.
